"About" is not "by" is not "for."
Yotsuba&! is about a six-year-old, but written for a little bit older audience. (I see it as having adult appeal, but apparently it's serialized in a shounen magazine.) By an adult.
Axe Cop is (partially) written by a six-year-old (ostensibly, anyway), & its appeal is, I think, to an adult audience.
Well, I guess both have general audience appeal for a range of age groups.
But, yeah, "about" is not "by" is not "for."
So when we talk about "girl comics" or "kids' comics" we sometimes confuse these. Something to think about.
