Movies that pretend to be more real than they are to cheat you into suspending your disbelief:
Paper Heart is a freakin' amazing documentary. Then you get to the end, & "What did I just watch?" Wait, no, the B-plot is a documentary (it is, really, & well done); the A-plot is fakety fake fake (& also well done; they wisely took out the scenes that were too apparently staged).
_
The Men Who Stare at Goats. I think this had a preview on the Paper Heart DVD. So I watched it. It opens with, "More of this than you think is true." Well, I don't know, I'm pretty gullible. Sadly, the actual overall plotline is Hollywood crap. But I am kind of curious about the book now. And I do recommend the movie, anyway.
One, because there's a wonderful device in the penultimate scene, where Bob (who is utter fiction) is complaining about how little of his story made the media; & all that leads up to it drives the point home. Too bad it's a lie.

Two, because it reminded me of Three Kings, & those two might make a trippy double feature.
