    <title>I talk about Michael Mann for probably not the first time</title>

    <content type="html">&lt;a href="http://www.rogerebert.com/balder-and-dash/the-revolution-before-the-revolution-miami-vice-nypd-blue-and-other-great-pre-sopranos-dramas"&gt;I skimmed a little of this.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I watched a lot of these shows.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was &lt;i&gt;really&lt;/i&gt; into &lt;i&gt;Miami Vice&lt;/i&gt; as a teenager. The use of time was amazing, and it was largely possible due to not falling into the trick of using a, b, and c plots, but telling one story in the 45 minutes available. "Half a major motion picture every week." I watched Michael Mann's &lt;i&gt;Robbery Homicide Division&lt;/i&gt; years later, and it was the same theory, but it relied too much on the same protagonist every week, and wasted the rest of the ostensible regular cast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've probably said this on this journal before.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Man, I loved&lt;i&gt; Miami Vice.&lt;/i&gt; I was a nutty kid.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="https://www.dreamwidth.org/tools/commentcount?user=philippos42&amp;ditemid=113873" width="30" height="12" alt="comment count unavailable" style="vertical-align: middle;"/&gt; comments</content>
